Pretty much my favorite vampire ever. Marceline has a smooth melodic voice and knows how to rock a guitar. Besides being a ball buster, she manages to propel the overall Adventure Time tale in a way that provides depth and a sense of history of the world of Oooo. Marceline is pretty much just bad ass, and that’s why she’s on the list of things that are the Best Ever.
The feeling that things have finished is amazing. Freedom feels a lot harder to attain when you feel like there is unfinished business. If closure comes to you, rejoice in it. Even if it’s not in the direction you wanted, relish in the fact that a chapter has come to a close. These reasons and more are why Closure is on the list of things that are the best ever.
Bubble baths are one of the main activities in my Self Care repertoire. They are soothing, if done right. Luckily, to do them right, all you have to do is run a bath that is soothing to your skin and soul, slowly sink your body into the water, lay your head back, and close your eyes for a few moments. Just be mindful and live in the bath. That’s it! Bubble baths can be healing, relaxing, or intimate. It’s all up to you. Because of the immense power of bubble baths, they are on the list of things that are the Best Ever.
PS - Do yourself a favor and take a bubble bath in the morning :)
Final Fantasy is my favorite video game series, but Kingdom Hearts is the one I have the most emotional investment in. Never have I connected with a group of characters like I have with those in Kingdom Hearts. I find the story incredibly evocative and take joy and pleasure in embarking on a new journey each time a game comes out. This game means a lot to me and has a very dear place in my heart. This is exactly why Kingdom Hearts is on the list of things that are the Best Ever.
So, with this post I will formally announce that I am being incredibly pretentious when I call something ‘stylized’. But I’m also being fucking serious. Thus, we have Samurai Champloo. Literally, that’s what it is: A champloo (an eclectic mixture of elements) surrounding samurai. I call it a stylized anime because it is artsy and a mixture of many things: vibrant color but dusty locales, softness (often in female form) and grittiness (read: Mugen). It is a brilliant work of art that manages to combine so many amazing things: visual art, hip hop, samurai, philosophy. Thus, that is why Samurai Champloo will forever be on the list of things that are the Best Ever.
Reginald is hands down the most entertaining koala bear I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen some entertaining koala bears. So, even if only by virtue of the fact that he’s CUTE AS A BUTTON, Reginald is on the list of things that are the best ever.
I encountered Bibio because of [adult swim], who uses some of his music in various bumps, and I have been in love since. In general, he is something new and wonderful to my ears. No, I don’t gravitate to absolutely every song, but the ones I do I forge a powerful connection to. I can’t help but smile and start dancing when I hear K is for Kelson. I actually say, out loud, ‘K is for Kelson!’ whenever I hear the song. I love music, I love music that resonates with me. So, that is why Bibio is on the list of things that are the Best Ever!
Why is Love on the list of things that are the Best Ever? Because it’s powerful. I’m not talking boyfriend/girlfriend romantic love. I’m talking love of Self, Others, the World, Everything. Love has the power and capacity to change someone’s world for the better, even if just for a moment. Love has the capacity to make humans do some truly crazy shit. Love also has the capacity to cause humans an immense amount of pain. Love is power, in many ways. I choose to focus on what Love can do for me in positive ways. Love is the Best Ever because it has changed my world for the better.
Naps are the things we hated as children but cherish as adults. They are the oasis of time where you get to rest your weary body, soul and eyes, even if just for a moment. Even though they help transform me into the meanest you’ll ever see me (under the right circumstances), naps are definitely on the list of things that are the Best Ever. I may even take one right now :)
Whether in my office when my officemate is out for the day, the bathroom when no one is around, or at home in my bed, Alone Time is refreshing. I wear the label of Introvert with mad pride, and I wholly ascribe to what it means. I get to recharge, sit, think, and do whatever the hell I want. That is why Alone Time is on the list of things that are the Best Ever :)

The man responsible for officially getting me into hip hop: Seba Jun or, as he is better known, Nujabes. I first heard his music in Samurai Champloo, and thus began the love story between me and his music, as well as the music of those who worked with him. There is something about his music that resonates with me. Kinda makes me believe I can fall in love again :’) *real tears* Rest in Peace, Nujabes. May you forever live on the list of things that are the Best Ever.
